Job Summary
We’re looking for passionate and creative climbers to join our Route Setting Team.
As a Route Setter, you’ll be responsible for creating engaging, challenging, and diverse climbing experiences across our walls. You’ll work as part of a team to develop quality routes and boulders for climbers of all levels while maintaining high standards for safety, creativity, and movement.
Key Responsibilities
- Set both boulder problems and roped routes (top rope and lead).
- Maintain high standards for setting quality, safety, and aesthetics.
- Work at heights using ladders and/or rope systems.
- Collaborate with team members to meet setting deadlines and weekly goals.
- Regularly test and tweak routes to suit various skill levels.
- Help ensure holds and volumes are cleaned, maintained, and organized.
- Uphold and model safety protocols at all times.
- OTHERS: Provide occasional coaching support for classes, camps, and groups when needed.
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in a commercial climbing facility is required.
- Solid technical climbing skills (lead and top rope proficiency).
- Demonstrated experience in both bouldering and route setting.
- Comfortable working at heights and operating ladders/rope access.
- Creative mindset with an eye for movement, flow, and aesthetics.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to manage time effectively.
- Flexible and open to feedback and growth.
- Looking for a long-term commitment and someone interested in growing with the organization.
- First Aid/CPR, climbing certifications, or coaching experience are assets.
- Must have flexible availability.
- Must live in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
