About the Role

Kent is looking for a Heat Exchanger Subject Matter Expert to support a SAGD project. This role plays a critical part in the design, review, and optimization of heat transfer equipment used in heavy-oil thermal production, including shell-and-tube exchangers, air coolers, and specialty exchangers. You will be part of a team responsible for ensuring exchanger designs meet thermal, mechanical, and operational requirements across FEED, detailed design, and execution phases.

This role combines advanced engineering analysis with client-facing technical leadership and site support.

Skills and Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

- Engineering and reviewing heat exchanger designs and specifications
- Supporting thermal sizing, rating, and performance analysis
- Reviewing vendor quotations, drawings, and fabrication data
- Assessing fouling, vibration, and thermal performance risks
- Preparing and reviewing material requisitions (MRs) and data sheets
- Participating in FAT and SAT activities
- Supporting site inspections, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- Providing technical guidance to clients and internal engineering teams In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization.

Your knowledge/skills, education and experience:

Knowledge/Qualification/Training/Certification:

- Mechanical Engineering degree
- Skilled Engineer (P.Eng) registered with APEGA
- SAGD experience
- Strong expertise in heat exchanger design, rating, and troubleshooting
- Experience reviewing vendor packages and technical submittals
- Ability to support site work and inspections

Communication:

- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
