Role Description The Heavy Equipment Field Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Mississauga, ON. The technician will perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment used in paving and site services, both in the yard and in the field.

Day-to-day responsibilities include inspecting equipment, conducting preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, and completing accurate service documentation. The role involves coordinating with supervisors and operators to schedule repairs, ensuring equipment downtime is minimized and safety standards are maintained.



The technician will also interact with internal stakeholders and occasionally clients to support reliable operations and contribute to overall project and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

- Robust technical ability in Heavy Equipment operation and understanding of construction and paving equipment systems.
- Experience in Equipment Maintenance, including routine service, component replacement, and repair documentation.
- Skill in Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues in field conditions.
- Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance practices to reduce equipment failures and extend asset life.
- Focus on Customer Satisfaction, with a commitment to responsive service and professional communication.
- Relevant trade certification or diploma in heavy equipment mechanics, diesel technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally to job sites as required.
- Adherence to health and safety regulations, including proper use of tools, PPE, and safe work practices.
- Previous experience in construction, paving, or similar industrial environments is an asset.
