Minimum Requirements:
- 12 months of experience operating cable or hydraulic shovels, excavators, dozers,
graders or haul trucks in an open pit mine
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) or 10 years of relevant work experience
- Valid driver’s license and a 2-year clean driving record.
- Proven safety mindset
- The ability to concentrate and maintain focus for long periods of time
Responsibilities:
- Operate various makes and models of haul trucks, shovels, backhoes, dozers, and/or graders in adherence to our standards and procedures
- Complete walk-arounds, safety checks and field level risk assessments and ensure the heavy equipment is running properly and respectfully intervene when necessary.
- Train and mentor others
- Report any necessary repairs to the maintenance team or supervisors and report all incidents, damage and near misses immediately
- Participate in and drive continuous improvement programs
Location and other Key Details:
- You will work out of our Syncrude Mildred lake or Aurora site in Fort McMurray
- The shift schedule is a six days on/six days off rotation (three days on, three nights on, six days off; 12-hour shifts)
- This position has been identified as safety sensitive
