The Human Resources Generalist shall be assisting the transition of the Child & Family Well-Being Department to a recent corporation. The HR Generalist shall perform various HR related functions including, but not limited to, recruitment, selection& retention of employees, pension & benefit plan administration, health and safety program development and administration, organizational design, and human resources project work. The HR Generalist shall prepare key documents needed for the transition, including job descriptions, salary grids, operating procedures, and get employee information ready for the transition with MCFN’s HR Department.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Post Secondary Education in Business Administration or Human Resources; Certified Human Resources Professional Designation in progress or Certified Indigenous Human Resources Professional (CIHRP) or willingness to obtain preferred.
- General knowledge of Business, HR, and Payroll functions, practices, and processes.
- Payroll knowledge is preferred.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Experience with the Microsoft suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and/or HRIS is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and constantly changing environment.
- Ability to speak Cree is an asset.
- 1-3 years in a Human Resources or related role.
- Experience in working with a First Nation is an asset.
- G or G2 Driver’s License required.
Duration: Permanent with 3 months probation
