Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to drive our HR initiatives and functions and ensure alignment with business objectives and business needs. This position is responsible for leading and delivering all Human Resources functions for the organization as its dedicated Human Resources professional. Duties will include, full cycle recruiting of top talent, enhancing staff performance, supporting employee development, enhancing recruitment efforts, planning strategic HR initiatives, conduct orientation and onboarding processes, communicating role expectations, designing succession plans, maintaining staff relations, managing internships and updating policies and practices. Your experience in Human Resources Management will aid our organization in adding value to overall business objectives, providing HR solutions, resolving personnel grievances, retaining a talented workforce, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

The Human Resources

Manager directly reports to the CEO, President & Director of Construction. The ideal candidate for this role should have a good understanding of business functions, good communication skills, valuable interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, and good organizational skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Maintain HR policies, procedures, and documentation in compliance with legislation and relevant collective agreements.

· Ensure confidentiality, compliance, and alignment with company values.

· Guide managers through performance objectives, reviews, and corrective actions.

· Promote strong communication and a positive workplace culture.

· Develop and report on HR metrics, dashboards, and survey insights to support data‑driven decisions.





· Oversee and execute employee offboarding, terminations, exit interviews, and asset management.

· Maintain HR communication channels and company online professional profiles.

· Participate in Joint Health & Safety Committee and collaborate with HSE Department, providing HR advisory notes when needed.

· Administer and manage Extended Health Benefits, EFAP, RRSP programs, and the associated eligibility tracking.

· Lead employee engagement and recognition programs, as well as company events (e.g. social events, management conference, Town Hall, Christmas party, department engagement events).

· Conduct salary reviews, market assessments, and compensation planning.

· Represent the company at recruitment events and job fairs.

· Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, conducting investigations, and disciplinary actions.

· Advise leaders regularly on HR best practices, performance management, and employee relations.

· Lead full‑cycle recruitment and develop strategies to attract top talent.

· Prepare employment documentation, conduct new-employee orientations and ensure smooth onboarding on new employees.

· Support organizational strategic planning, workforce planning, and talent strategy.

· Manage HR files, databases, digital systems, and regulatory tracking.





· Ensure HR inboxes are maintained and enquiries responded to in a timely manner.

· Support payroll accuracy and maintain employee data, conducting regular audits of employment changes.

· Manage the company’s Legacy Program, including completing account conciliations bi-weekly draws, updating applicable licenses.

· Verify Drug and Alcohol Testing Requirements for each instance, coordinating employees testing appointments, ensuring confidentiality and/or appropriate distribution of results.

· Support other areas in the organization as the need arises.

Qualifications/Requirements

· Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management, or equivalent

· CPHR Designation or working towards is considered an asset

· 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, experience as a strategic leader within a dynamic environment is considered an asset

· Experience working with both Union and Non-Union employees

· You are a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who takes ownership and flourishes in an often-ambiguous environment

· You are a self starter and create direction based on company objective and priorities

· You are approachable, comfortable building trusting relationships across all layers of the organization

· You focus on the priorities while also being flexible and have experience working in a fast-paced company environment.

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
