Overview

We are a family seeking a part-time caregiver to work with our elderly Italian mom, in her home, in lower Sahali, Kamloops. She requires full- time care . We are looking for people who are kind and observant.

She does have moderate dementia and sundowns. This is a part time, 1- 4 shifts per week for a 6 week term. There is the possibility of longer term employment. We need reliable kind people with experience with the elderly and dementia care.

It is a non-smoking home and a friendly team workplace

Duties

- Provide personal care services, including bathing, grooming, and dressing assistance.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for any changes in health status.
- Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, feeding, and mobility support.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties.




- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance her mental well-being.
- Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, including dementia care strategies.
- Communicate effectively with family members and other care workers.

Experience

- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as home care or assisted living is preferred.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and ceiling track lifts is beneficial.
- Experience working with seniors is highly valued.
- Knowledge of dementia care techniques is essential.
- A background in nursing or healthcare can enhance your qualifications for this role.
- References are required and we will ask for a current criminal record check.

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
