JOB SUMMARY
The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for leading inventory management. This role provides both strategic direction and hands-on leadership to ensure accurate inventory, efficient warehouse operations, and uninterrupted material flow in support of manufacturing and customer service.
This position requires a strong presence on the warehouse floor, working closely with warehouse and inventory personnel to drive inventory accuracy, resolve operational issues, improve processes, and ensure compliance with company procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement inventory management policies, procedures, and best practices;
- Develop, monitor, and report on inventory and warehouse KPIs;
- Establish inventory targets, safety stock levels, and replenishment strategies;
- Lead inventory optimization initiatives to balance service levels and working capital;
- Monitor inventory turnover, inventory accuracy, stockouts, and obsolete inventory;
- Lead and oversee the cycle count program and annual physical inventory to ensure inventory accuracy;
- Conduct root cause analysis of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective and preventive actions;
- Ensure inventory transactions are accurately recorded in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central;
- Lead, coach, and support a small team to achieve inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and departmental objectives;
- Coordinate daily inventory and warehouse activities to support production requirements and customer service;
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, warehouse efficiency, and material flow;
- Support ERP enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management and warehouse operations;
- Collaborate with Procurement, Production, and Operations to ensure material availability, resolve inventory issues, and support production requirements.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field;
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Management, Inventory Control, Material Planning and MRP, Warehouse Operations;
- Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strong attention to detail;
- Ability to investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes,
and implement corrective actions;
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles, including cycle counting, physical inventory, and inventory accuracy improvement;
- Experience with inventory optimization, replenishment strategies, and maintaining appropriate stock levels;
- Strong knowledge of warehouse processes, material handling, and transaction accuracy;
- Ability to analyze data, develop reports, and use metrics to drive operational improvements;
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment;
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across Supply Chain, Production, Operations, and Procurement teams;
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central;
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting;
- Experience with Power BI or other reporting tools is preferred;
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
