Job Title: Part-Time Supervisor, Esports Operations (Contract)Requisition #: 26-0147Location: WaterlooDepartment: Esports OperationsPayband: 08Payband Range: $35.17 - $43.96Hours/Week: 24Posting Date: Tuesday, August 4, 2026Closing Date: Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 11:59 PM ESTVacancy Type: Administration - Part-timePosition SummaryTemporary Part-Time Administration, new position (August 2026 to May 28, 2027)The Part-Time Supervisor, Esports Operations, supports the delivery of Conestoga College's varsity esports program and contributes to a positive, inclusive, and student-centred competitive environment. Working closely with student-athletes, coaches, and student staff, the incumbent provides leadership and operational support to enhance the overall varsity esports experience. The role helps ensure varsity programming is delivered effectively and in alignment with departmental standards, college policies, and league requirements.This position focuses on enhancing the varsity athlete experience and does not include responsibilities related to facility operations or technical equipment servicing.Successful candidates will be required to conduct work on-site at Conestoga's Waterloo campus, located at 108 University Avenue East. The Supervisor will be scheduled for 24 hours per week, on Mondays from 10:00 a.M. to 4:00 p.M. and Tuesdays to Thursdays from 3:00 p.M. to 9:00 p.M. Evening and weekend hours may be required to support the varsity competition schedule.ResponsibilitiesVarsity esports operations and match supportOversees logistics for varsity matches, including competitive area readiness and schedule confirmationActs as the on-shift lead,



directing and guiding student staff during varsity activities and ensuring operational standards are metDirects communication of practice and match schedules to athletes and coaches, ensuring clarity and preparednessAssists with esports league onboarding, roster submissions, and eligibility documentation, including handling sensitive student-athlete information in alignment with institutional policiesProvides on-site operational oversight during matches to ensure smooth operationsAthlete experience, hospitality and annual eventsLeads frontline athlete support during practices and matchesDirects match-day hospitality (snacks, drinks, hydration), including managing assigned budgets and tracking related expenditures in alignment with departmental guidelinesSupports and contributes to the planning and delivery of varsity events (tryouts, onboarding, awards), including logistical coordination, resource planning, and operational executionGuides athlete success through communication and directional support for wellness and academic needsPromotes and upholds an inclusive and secure competitive environmentCompetitive gaming environment readinessPrepares gaming stations by launching game software, checking settings, confirming account access, and ensuring peripherals function properlyProvides basic athlete-facing troubleshooting (e.G., login issues, peripheral disconnects)Escalates system-level or hardware issues through appropriate channels; does not perform technical servicingMaintains a tidy,



organized competitive environment before and after varsity useAdministrative and communication supportMaintain varsity esports calendars, schedules, and communicationsAssist with match summaries, event documentation, and data trackingProvide feedback and suggestions for varsity program improvementsQualificationsTwo-year diploma in Esports Event and Media Production, Esports Marketing and Event Management, Esports Administration, Recreation and Leisure, Recreation & Sport Management, IT & Computer Sciences, Creative Industries or a related fieldMinimum one-year of related experience in esports, athletics, recreation, event operations, gaming environments, or a similar customer-facing setting; experience providing guidance, directing activities, or supervising staff is considered an assetKnowledge of PC gaming software, esports titles, and gaming peripheralsAbility to guide athletes through account setup and platform onboardingStrong communication and customer service skillsOrganizational and coordination skills to manage multiple schedules, events, and team activities simultaneouslyAbility to apply conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques in fast-paced, live competition environmentsConestoga College is a leader in polytechnic education.
