About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer with 7+ years of professional software development experience to join our team in Mississauga, Ontario. This is a full-time, onsite position ideal for a strong backend engineer with hands-on experience designing, developing, integrating, testing, and maintaining enterprise-grade applications.

The successful candidate will work closely with development teams, business stakeholders, architects, and QA teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performing Java-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain enterprise Java applications.
- Develop scalable backend services and applications using Java and Spring/Spring Boot .
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices .
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective software solutions.
- Participate in application architecture, design discussions, and technical decision-making.
- Develop clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-documented code.
- Integrate applications with databases, third-party systems, and enterprise services.
- Troubleshoot application issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement appropriate fixes.
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure application quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with QA teams during testing, defect resolution, and production releases.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum development activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Review code and provide constructive feedback to other developers.
- Work with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines,



automated deployments, and application releases .
- Monitor application performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Prepare technical documentation and contribute to development standards and best practices.
- Support production deployments and resolve technical issues when required.

Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional experience in Java development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Core Java and Java/J2EE .
- Strong experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot .
- Experience developing REST APIs and Microservices .
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and software design principles.
- Experience working with SQL and relational databases .
- Experience with application integration and enterprise systems.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with Git and version control systems .
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices .
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an onsite development environment in Mississauga, Ontario .

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms .
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes .
- Knowledge of messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ .
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito .
- Familiarity with Maven or Gradle.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
