Silver Valley Fire Protection Ltd. is looking for an experienced Journeyperson Service Sprinkler Fitter to join our growing service team.

This is primarily a service, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and deficiency position working on commercial, residential, and industrial fire protection systems throughout the Lower Mainland.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, diagnosing problems, completing repairs, communicating with customers, and managing service calls from start to finish.

We may also consider experienced sprinkler apprentices with four or more years of trade experience, as well as certified Fire Alarm Technicians interested in transitioning into the sprinkler trade, depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

Inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire sprinkler systems

Complete service calls, emergency repairs, and quoted deficiency work

Perform annual, three-year, and five-year inspections and testing

Work on wet, dry, pre-action, standpipe, fire pump, backflow, and related systems

Diagnose system problems and recommend appropriate repairs

Read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation

Complete accurate electronic service reports, inspection documentation, deficiency reports, and material lists

Communicate professionally with customers, property managers, building representatives, and other trades

Maintain an organized service vehicle, tools, equipment, and inventory

Follow company safety procedures, WorkSafeBC requirements, and applicable codes and standards

Qualifications





Journeyperson or Red Seal Sprinkler Fitter certification for journeyperson applicants

Experienced sprinkler apprentices with four or more years of trade experience may be considered

Previous sprinkler service, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair experience

Strong knowledge of sprinkler valves, piping, fittings, and related equipment

Ability to diagnose and complete repairs with minimal supervision

Ability to read drawings and technical documentation

Solid mechanical aptitude

Professional communication and customer-service skills

Ability to complete clear and accurate electronic reports

Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record

Backflow Assembly Tester certification is an asset

Ability to safely work from ladders and in mechanical rooms, parkades, attics, and other job-site environments
