$24–$30/hour | Ancaster, Dundas, Hamilton & Burlington

Hollenbeck Builders is looking for a junior carpenter or experienced construction helper to join our small residential construction crew.

This position would be a good fit for someone who already has construction experience but wants the opportunity to develop stronger carpentry skills, learn different areas of residential construction, and take on more responsibility as their abilities grow.

You'll work directly alongside an experienced carpenter on real projects rather than being limited to general labour. For someone who shows initiative, reliability, and an interest in learning, there is plenty of prospect to develop skills and become a more capable, well-rounded carpenter.

We currently have exterior projects lined up while the weather allows, including decks/patios, siding, and outdoor structures. Our work also includes renovations, framing, finish carpentry, kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and other residential construction projects.

What We're Looking For

- Previous construction experience; carpentry experience is preferred
- Reliable, punctual, and ready to work
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Comfortable using common construction tools
- Able to take direction and increasingly work independently as skills develop




- Positive attitude and ability to work well as part of a small crew
- Comfortable working without smoking during the workday

Pay & Opportunity Starting pay: $24–$30/hour, based on experience and demonstrated ability.

Pay increases are based on performance, reliability, skill development, and the level of responsibility you're able to take on.

This is not being advertised as a formal apprenticeship program or guaranteed year-round employment. However, I'm interested in finding someone who wants to learn, improve their skills, and grow with the opportunities available.

Requirements

- Reliable transportation to job sites in Hamilton, Ancaster, Dundas, Burlington, and surrounding areas
- Appropriate construction workwear and basic PPE
- Subcontract position
- HST registration required
- Responsible for your own WSIB coverage
