We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our Product & Design team. In this role, you'll own the design of complex, cross-functional product experiences — from discovery through delivery — raising the quality bar across the product and influencing direction through strong craft and clear thinking.

You’ll partner closely with our other designer and work alongside Product and Engineering to shape how customers experience Uptempo's platform. This is a role for someone who thinks in systems, not just screens: bringing both deep UI and visual design expertise as well as spearheading discovery to ask the right questions. You have a sharp eye for consistency and usability, and the confidence to define the problem before designing the solution.

Key Responsibilities

UX & Problem Framing

- Conduct and synthesize customer research to inform design decisions — interviews, usability testing, and structured validation
- Translate research findings into design artifacts: user flows, wireframes, and prototypes
- Identify usability issues and workflow friction through structured observation, not just intuition
- Make confident design decisions under ambiguity, defending them with clarity and evidence

UI Design Craft & Quality

- Own end-to-end UI design for complex, multi-step workflows
- Produce polished, handoff-ready designs with consistent patterns and thorough edge case coverage
- Think in systems rather than screens — defining and refining interaction patterns for reuse across the product
- Ensure designs meet accessibility standards (WCAG) and uphold inclusive design principles throughout

Cross-functional Collaboration

- Partner closely with your design counterpart to maintain consistency and shared quality standards

- Collaborate with Product to shape initiative scope and influence product direction through research and structured rationale
- Work closely with Engineering to define reusable patterns, anticipate technical dependencies, and keep designs feasible and implementable
- Communicate design decisions in terms of customer and business impact; align stakeholders across product, engineering, sales, and customer success

AI & Emerging Capabilities

- Use AI tools to support and accelerate your own design workflow
- Design interaction patterns for AI-assisted workflows thoughtfully — with an eye toward transparency, trust, and explainability
- Collaborate with PM and Engineering to define how AI-powered features should feel to users

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of product design experience, ideally in a B2B SaaS setting, spanning both UX and UI
- Demonstrated end-to-end ownership — research and problem framing through to high-quality visual execution
- Proven ability to work independently across the full design lifecycle with minimal oversight
- Solid understanding of accessibility standards and experience applying them in product work
- Strong communication skills with experience presenting to and influencing cross-functional stakeholders
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and advocating for the right level of research before designing
- Solid understanding of component-based design systems and frontend constraints

Nice to Have

- Experience with enterprise marketing, finance, or operations software
- Prior work designing or contributing to a design system
- Experience using AI tools within a design workflow, and curiosity about designing AI-enabled product experiences
