Canada Post is looking for a Letter Carrier / Delivery Agent and Postal Clerk in Kenora, ON. This is a temporary on-call position that may involve working as a delivery agent or a postal clerk depending on operational needs.
As a Delivery Agent:
- Sort and prepare daily deliveries at the depot
- Load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle
- Deliver mail and packages by foot or vehicle to customers on your route
- Return to the depot to unload incoming mail and packages
As a Postal Clerk:
- Sort, scan, sequence, and batch mail items inside a sorting facility
- Operate material handling equipment
- Receive and accept mail items
- Transfer and dispatch parcels and packets
- Complete reports and documentation
- Work various shifts including evenings, nights, and weekends
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Class 5 or Class G driver's licence with a protected driving record for at least 3 years (driver's abstract required)
- Physical ability to lift items up to 22.7 kg (50 lb)
and carry items up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Availability to be on-call, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to read, write, and speak English and/or French
Assets:
- Experience in customer service
- Experience making deliveries or working as a driver
- Experience in a production environment
Salary: $23.81/hour
