The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Licensed Embalmer who is passionate about providing dignified and respectful care to decedents while consistently maintaining high professional standards. The successful candidate will bring strong technical competency, sound judgment, compassion, and close attention to detail, working collaboratively with funeral home leadership and team members to ensure services and preparations are completed accurately, professionally, and on schedule.
This position is well suited to a caring and compassionate individual who takes pride in helping others and can maintain a calm, respectful, and professional approach in a fast-paced and sensitive environment.
We are looking for individuals with excellent communication skills, who enjoy working with and helping people. The ideal candidate will be very organized, have a high sense of urgency, the ability to multitask with a pleasant demeanor. Must be proficient in English both spoken and verbal (other languages an asset) and be able to perform physical requirements of the job.

This is a full-time position, offering a base hourly range of $28.00 to $34.00, a quarterly bonus potential, and eligibility for a comprehensive total rewards package through our self-funded benefits program, including:
Duties may include
- Cares for deceased in a respectful manner while performing a variety of tasks which include: verifying identification and embalming authorization; performing restorations; completing removals and transfers; dressing,
styling hair and or applying cosmetics, and; any other preparation required for human remains
- Adheres to all applicable professional, municipal, provincial and federal licensing authority regulations
- Assists with maintenance of preparation room and the facility
- Cleans soiled equipment and hazardous material spills
- Ensures hazardous materials and spills are handled in accordance with the Material Data Safety Sheets
- Assists with chemical and supply inventory
- Receives caskets and other funeral home supplies
- Promotes a safe work environment by being aware of and practicing general principles of safe conduct
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:
- Have a current embalming license and 2 years’ experience as an embalmer
- Have good demeanor and professional outlook
- Be an excellent communicator and team player
- Hold themselves to a high standard of service
- Be empathetic and compassionate
- Will be physically capable of standing for long period
- Be able to comfortably lift 50-75 lbs
- Have a Class 5 drivers license with a good driving record
For candidates who embody these attributes, this position has the potential for further advancement within the company. Compensation (including bonuses and benefits) is competitive and will be tailored to match the qualification and skill of the individual applicant.
A BC Embalmer License is preferred, however for the right candidate, we will facilitate licensing transfer requirements.
Candidates will need to already possess the legal ability to work in Canada, we are unable to sponsor candidates.
