The Wellings of Picton is a vibrant community for independent adults who are 55+.

We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Line/Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. In this role you will prepare food to the chef’s specifications, set up stations for service, and assist with daily kitchen operations.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality meals and contributing to overall customer satisfaction.

Shifts are 8 hours and run throughout the day & evening, usually 11:30 to 7:30 or noon until 8pm. Hours, on occasion, will vary due to events.

This is not a seasonal position.

Our kitchen is open daily and we are looking for someone who can work 3 to 5 days per week.

Candidates must be available on weekends, weekdays, and public holidays.

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:

- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Assist the chef with daily kitchen tasks and food preparation
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service




- Follow food safety guidelines when handling and packaging food items
- assist with kitchen duties, such as dishwashing, cleaning, food service, inventory, and other related duties

Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a line or prep cook preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, kitchen equipment, and safe food handling practices, including cross-contamination and health & safety standards
- flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Food handler's certificate an asset

MUST HAVE OWN TRANSPORTATION Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
