Logistics, Transportation & Customs Specialist Responsibilities - Coordinate and optimize inbound (raw materials and components) and outbound (finished goods) logistics for domestic and international movements.

- Manage all customs documentation and ensure strict compliance for inventory transfers between Sollum sites, contract manufacturers (CMs), and third‑party warehousing partners (3PLs).
- Negotiate freight charges (spot rates) on a daily basis and evaluate routing options to optimize total transportation costs and transit times.
- Proactively track shipments, identify potential transit delays, and collaborate on corrective action plans to secure production timelines.
- Oversee the logistics for returns (RMA) and equipment replacements in close collaboration with the technical support team.
- Coordinate production schedules with contract manufacturers, ensure proactive order tracking, and implement contingency plans to guarantee on‑time delivery.
- Handle the issuance and rigorous tracking of specific purchase orders (POs) related to commodities or transportation services.
- Act as the full operational back‑up for the Supply Chain Specialist during vacation periods (managing regular production POs, tracking contract manufacturers, and maintaining day‑to‑day supply chain workflows).
- Execute inventory transactions associated with freight receipts and maintain logistical data integrity within SAP Business ByDesign.
- Maintain and update logistics‑related Item Master data (weights, dimensions, HS codes, alternative parts).
- Work closely with Project Management, Finance, and Sales Operations teams to provide clear visibility on freight status and delivery timelines.
- Monitor carrier and customs broker performance against established KPIs (on‑time delivery, compliance,



and cost).
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of logistics and customs clearance workflows.

Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Logistics and Transportation, Business Administration (or a related field), or a Technical Diploma (DEC) in a related discipline.

Experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, and customs.

Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of Incoterms, international customs clearance processes, and regulatory frameworks (Canada/US).

Software Skills: Proficiency with MS Office (Advanced Excel).

Languages: Full skilled fluency in both French and English (written and spoken).

Required Skills & Assets - Disciplined, structured, and highly meticulous approach (critical for customs and compliance).

- Strong tactical negotiation and problem‑solving skills under tight transit deadlines.
- Versatility, agility, and flexibility to transition from logistics oversight to procurement tasks during back‑up periods.
- Ability to handle multiple shipments and transportation projects concurrently in a high‑growth, dynamic environment.
- Experience in the high‑tech, electronics, or advanced manufacturing sector.
- Proficiency or practical experience with ERP systems, specifically SAP Business ByDesign.
