Manager, Annual Giving

The IWK Foundation proudly supports IWK Health, the largest pediatric hospital in the Maritimes and the only children’s hospital east of Montreal equipped to manage any trauma in the region. In partnership with IWK Health, we are helping create the world’s first Mental Health and Addictions Ecosystem so patients and families can access the care they need, when and where they need it. We also recently launched the Women’s Health Equity Now (WHEN™) movement, advancing women’s health and wellness across all stages of life locally, nationally, and globally.
What We Need:
We’re looking for a strategic, results-oriented Manager, Annual Giving to join the IWK Foundation. This role leads the strategy, planning, and ongoing development of the Foundation’s Annual Giving program while collaborating across teams to execute integrated fundraising initiatives. With a focus on sustainable revenue growth, donor acquisition and retention, and insight-informed decision making, this role helps shape annual giving strategies that are connected, data-informed, and aligned with Foundation priorities.
Working within Foundation policies, ethical standards, and the Donor Bill of Rights, this position leads the Annual Giving portfolio and is accountable for program strategy, execution, data-informed planning, and revenue and expense targets.
The role supports annual revenue goals through direct response, monthly giving, symbolic giving, and tribute giving programs, using an integrated approach across channels, donor segments, and donor personas.
The IWK Foundation offers a flexible hybrid work model with a minimum of two in-office days per week.
Annual Giving Strategy and Execution:
- Lead the strategy, planning, implementation, and ongoing management of an integrated Annual Giving program
- Develop and execute annual business plans and revenue strategies with internal teams, aligned with Foundation priorities, donor insights, and organizational goals
- Oversee integrated fundraising programs, including direct response,
monthly giving, symbolic giving, and memorial/tribute campaigns, ensuring alignment across channels, teams, and donor touchpoints
- Use donor personas, audience insights, campaign learnings, and data analysis to inform messaging, segmentation, channel strategy, and donor journeys
- Identify opportunities to strengthen campaign performance, improve donor engagement, and advance the overall annual giving program
Revenue and Portfolio Management
- Be accountable for achieving annual revenue and expense targets for the Annual Giving portfolio
- Monitor program performance across channels and adjust strategies to optimize results
- Partner with Donor Services and other internal teams to support data integrity, accurate segmentation, timely reporting, and reliable campaign analysis
- Apply donor persona insights to support revenue forecasting, portfolio planning, and growth opportunities across annual giving programs
- Support sustainable revenue growth through a balanced and diversified annual giving program
Donor Growth and Engagement
- Lead donor acquisition, retention, renewal, and upgrade strategies to strengthen annual giving performance and long-term donor value
- Review campaign results, donor response, donor personas, and program trends to inform decisions and future planning
- Provide regular reporting on annual giving performance, revenue results, and donor engagement outcomes
- Identify opportunities to improve campaign effectiveness, donor experience, donor journey touchpoints, and program processes
Collaboration and Leadership
- Provide leadership through cross-functional collaboration, program ownership, and coordination across the Annual Giving portfolio, influencing shared priorities and integrated ways of working
- Support clear priorities, accountability, issue-solving, and disciplined execution within the Foundation’s EOS operating model
- Work closely with Brand, Finance, Philanthropy, Donor Services, and other internal partners to deliver integrated annual giving initiatives
- Build trusted relationships across departments to connect annual giving strategies with broader donor engagement,
communications, and fundraising priorities
- Manage, coach, and support team members, if applicable, to ensure work is aligned, timely, and effective
- Contribute to departmental and Foundation-wide goals
- Promote alignment with Foundation values, policies, and practices
Who You Are:
You are a strategic and collaborative fundraising professional with experience leading annual giving programs that drive donor growth, revenue, and engagement. You bring strong judgment, a results-oriented mindset, and the ability to translate donor insight, data, and organizational priorities into action.
You are comfortable leading multi-channel fundraising initiatives, influencing across teams, strengthening integrated ways of working, and balancing long-term strategy with day-to-day execution in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.
You Offer:
- Post-secondary education in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of progressive fundraising experience, preferably in annual giving, direct response, or integrated donor engagement
- Experience leading multi-channel annual giving campaigns, managing budgets, and monitoring performance against revenue goals
- Experience providing direct people leadership, project leadership, or vendor oversight in a fundraising environment is an asset
- Experience using donor databases or CRM systems to support campaign execution, segmentation, and performance tracking; experience with Raiser’s Edge is an asset
- Strong understanding of data integrity, donor segmentation, donor personas, and the role of accurate data in effective fundraising strategy and reporting
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with a collaborative approach
- A positive, solutions-oriented mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment
