Shape the future of community safety as the Manager of Emergency Planning, Response, and Projects for Squamish Nation in North Vancouver. Drive impactful emergency management initiatives with a focus on collaboration. This full-time role is essential for developing a comprehensive program that supports the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Nation through prevention and recovery phases.
You will guide the emergency management lifecycle, overseeing operational planning, program evaluation, and resource allocation to respond effectively to disasters. Your leadership will be crucial in establishing partnerships with First Nations and provincial agencies. Key Responsibilities:
- Steer the strategic development of the emergency management program
- Manage disaster response coordination and evaluation
- Cultivate training initiatives across the organization
- Create and uphold emergency management policies
- Communicate with community during crises and educate the public Requirements:
- 5–7 years’ experience in emergency management
- Professional certification and relevant educational background
- Excellent crisis management and communication capabilities
- Solid organizational skills in high-pressure situations
- Valid BC Driver's License and willingness to travel Lead transformative emergency management efforts with Squamish Nation to enhance public safety and community resilience.
