We are currently hiring for a long term, full time Grocery Assistant Manager position in our store with the option for future growth with the company.Rate of pay is $24.00 to $29.00/hour (dependent on experience).A successful candidate must be high energy, detail oriented, focused, respectful, mature, and honest.ResponsibilitiesWorking directly with Grocery Manager to maintain the department in its best formMaintaining inventory levels, placing orders with vendorsWorking with Grocery Manager on features and promotionsStocking, merchandising and organizing shelves with products being delivered from suppliersRotating stock and checking expiry datesChecking stock status by performing physical counts on shelves and back stockOrganizing back stock as a support for the grocery, dairy, and deli departmentsCleaning, dusting,



filling/facing shelves with product to sellReceiving deliveries from suppliers and checking that correct quantities arrivedAssisting with tagging prices and promotions that have been approved by the Store ManagerRequirementsHigh energy, friendly, respectful, team player with customer service skillsExperience in grocery/retail customer service industry is greatly beneficialMust be able to lift at least 50 lbs and may enter the cold room several times over the course of each shiftMust be available 5 days a week for full time and at least one day on the weekend every weekendMust be available for adaptable shifts that start as early as 7 am until 10 a.M. and shifts that end as late as 7 pm on weekdays and as late as 5 p.M. on weekendsAvailable to work on weekends and around the holidays, as scheduled and able to start earlier such as for shifts in advance of Christmas and EasterMust be willing to learn how to use a forklift and pumpjack. Prior experience with machinery is appreciated but not necessaryTakes interest in learning about domestic and imported specialty productsCompletion of on-line Health and Safety course before start date.
