Net Zero Homes Consultants
Ottawa
Company Description Net Zero Homes Consulting helps Canadian homeowners make informed decisions about energy efficiency, electrification, and renewable energy solutions for their homes. The company views each home as a complete energy system, offering independent, vendor-neutral guidance on how upgrades such as insulation, heat pumps, solar, battery storage, and EV charging can work together.
Through virtual energy consultations, Net Zero Homes Consulting creates customized home energy roadmaps tailored to each property, homeowner’s goals, energy use, and future plans. The team does not sell equipment; instead, it focuses on helping homeowners understand what they need, how to prioritize investments, and how to leverage rebates and incentives. Based in Ottawa and serving homeowners across Ontario, the company is committed to making the path to comfortable, efficient, resilient, and lower-carbon homes easier to understand while supporting Canada’s net-zero future.
Role Description The Net Zero Home Consultant role is a remote, contract position focused on guiding homeowners through the planning and decision-making process for high-performance and Net Zero home upgrades. In this role, the consultant conducts virtual energy consultations, reviews home energy data and building characteristics, and develops clear, actionable home energy roadmaps.
Day-to-day tasks include assessing upgrade options such as efficiency measures, HVAC electrification, insulation and air sealing, solar, battery storage, and EV charging, and explaining technical concepts in accessible language.
The consultant provides vendor-neutral recommendations, helps homeowners prioritize projects based on comfort, resilience, emissions reduction, and financial return, and advises on rebates, incentives, and budget planning. The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation, collaborating on process improvements, and staying current with relevant technologies, policies, and programs in Ontario and across Canada.
