Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Casual / On-Call Substitute Early Childhood Educator (Level 3) with a Montessori background to support our classrooms as needed. This role is ideal for an educator who is flexible, reliable, and passionate about Montessori education for children aged 18 months to 6 years.

Substitute educators may be called in to cover staff absences, vacations, or busy periods, with shifts offered based on availability.

Preference will be given to candidates with additional skills in French, music, dance, or yoga, as we value enrichment and creativity in our program.

Responsibilities

- Step into classrooms and maintain a calm, prepared Montessori environment
- Support daily routines and Montessori-based activities
- Observe and guide children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development




- Foster positive relationships with children, staff, and families
- Follow classroom plans and centre policies
- Ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning setting
- Comply with Alberta Child Care Licensing regulations

Qualifications

- Alberta Level 3 Early Childhood Educator Certificate
- Montessori training or classroom experience
- Valid First Aid & CPR
- Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, flexible, and positive attitude
- Experience or interest in French, music, dance, or yoga is a strong asset

Schedule

- Casual / On-Call
- Shifts vary (daytime hours between (6:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
- Monday to Friday, as needed

Job Types: Part-time, Casual Pay: $27.62 per hour
