Southern Health-Santé Sud seeks an Occupational Safety and Health Officer specializing in workplace safety programs. This role involves developing and delivering training, conducting job hazard analyses, and supporting safety committees. The ideal candidate will utilize initiative and independent judgment to manage health and safety priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate workplace safety activities and health programs
• Develop and deliver training for staff on safety procedures
• Conduct workplace assessments and hazard identifications




• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on safety initiatives
• Support safety investigations and committee functions
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety
• Experience with workplace safety programs and WHMIS
• Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or similar designation an asset
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and insurance required
• Knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health Act & Regulations
