Term of App't: September - December 2026 (96 hours total)

Start date: September 2, 2026 (to allow for prep prior to the start of classes)

Reporting to: Dean, Academics

Salary:

$50.07 – $56.75/hr, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% on all regular earnings in lieu of advantages, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay day. Employees in this division have the opportunity to enroll in the College Pension Plan, with contributions matched by the Employer.

Description:

NLC requires a sessional online instructor to teach the section as indicated below – with course delivery taking place online synchronous.

ECON 101: Principles of Economics (Micro) - This course examines the way that a mixed market economy allocates and distributes scarce resources. Specific topics include the theory of consumer behaviour, market structure, production, production cost, price determination, the pricing and employment or resources, and the economics of income distribution.

Qualifications:

Required:

- Masters' Degree in Economics;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Committed to student motivation and success; and the
- Ability to collaborate as an effective team member.





Preference will be given to those who also have:

- PhD in Economics
- The Provincial Instructor Diploma Program or an equivalent credential in adult education, or a readiness to pursue such a credential.
- Previous instructional experience in a post-secondary environment;
- Experience using learning management systems (LMS) and teaching through multiple delivery modalities, and
- Experience instructing a culturally diverse group of students, including Indigenous and international students.
