Salary:

$50.07 – $56.75/hr, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% on all regular earnings in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay day. Employees in this division have the opportunity to enroll in the College Pension Plan, with contributions matched by the Employer.

Description:

NLC requires a sessional online instructor to teach the section as indicated below – with course delivery taking place online synchronous, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:45 - 10:10am.

PHIL 110: Introduction to Logic and Critical Thinking - This course covers a practical approach to the evaluation of valid argumentation, logical reasoning, common fallacies and the critical use of language.

Qualifications:

Required:

- Masters' Degree in Philosophy;
- Demonstrated expertise in logic and reasoning
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Committed to student motivation and success; and the
- Ability to collaborate as an effective team member.

Preference will be given to those who also have:





- PhD in Philosophy
- The Provincial Instructor Diploma Program or an equivalent credential in adult education, or a readiness to pursue such a credential.
- Previous instructional experience in a post-secondary setting;
- Experience using learning management systems (LMS) and teaching through multiple delivery modalities, and
- Experience instructing a culturally diverse group of students, including Indigenous and international students.
