Become the Park Stewardship Program Lead with the City of Edmonton. This integral role elevates park programs through community engagement and strategic partnerships in urban green spaces.
As a Recreation Officer 1, you will spearhead the development and delivery of park stewardship initiatives. Your responsibilities will include planning and enhancing community gardens, environmental programs, and collaborating with residents and organizations. By managing budgets and mentoring team members, you will drive impactful connections between the community and local parks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and enhance park stewardship initiatives and programs
• Track program expenditures to ensure budget adherence
• Facilitate community engagement with diverse groups
• Develop communication materials to raise community awareness
• Write grants and oversee scheduling and participant recognition
Requirements:
• University degree in Recreation Administration or related field
• Minimum three years in community or park management
• Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License required
• Current Standard First Aid certification with CPR-C
• Experience in public engagement initiatives is an asset
