Part time, Fixed-Term Opportunity in Parking & Ground Transportation at YVR with Concord Parking: Seasonal Part-time PARC Specialist - ASAP - September 30, 2026.
The Parking Access and Revenue Control (PARC) Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and customer-focused operation of parking facilities by combining technical expertise, operational oversight, and frontline customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Parking Supervisors in overseeing daily parking operations across YVR properties.
- Monitor parking capacity levels and initiate contingency plans when lots approach or reach capacity by conducting regular patrols of parking facilities using a company vehicle to maintain operational standards and compliance.
- Enforce parking regulations by issuing violation notices and coordinating towing for unauthorized vehicles when necessary, using handheld enforcement devices and company systems to document and process violations accurately.
- Assist in managing traffic flow during peak periods, special events, and emergency situations to ensure a safe and efficient customer experience.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on parking equipment, including automated gates, pay stations, and access control systems.
- Respond to equipment issues such as paper jams, low supplies, gate malfunctions, and system resets to minimize downtime.
- Escalate complex technical issues to Parking Control or external maintenance providers when required.
- Conduct daily audits of Automated Parking Systems (APS), pay stations, and parking areas to ensure functionality, accuracy, and procedural compliance.
- Maintain and update daily operational logs, documenting activities, incidents, corrective actions and system performance.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders regarding operational status and incidents.
- Address and resolve customer complaints in a professional, timely, and solution-focused manner, and provide clear instructions and guidance to ensure a positive and seamless customer experience.
- Demonstrate strong conflict resolution skills when dealing with challenging situations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and Conduct, at all times while representing the organization.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Ensure that all tools, devices, and issued technology are properly maintained, secured, and used appropriately.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned, consistent with the scope and level of the role.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:
- Grade 12 education or equivalent, (post secondary and asset in a related field)
- Class 5 Driver's License & Clean abstract, with no more than 2 minor infractions in the last 3 years
- 2 years of experience in the parking industry (an asset)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service or facility maintenance.
- General knowledge of parking operations, and familiarity with:
- - Automated barrier gates and access control systems
- Payment kiosks, ticketing systems, and card readers
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, low-voltage wiring, and equipment diagnostics
- Ability to use tools and maintenance software.
- A combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Proficiency in the English language both written and verbal is necessary; proficiency in another language is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal ‘soft’ skills,
- Comfortable working in a fast-changing dynamic atmosphere with multi-functional and multi-departmental levels.
Temporary Part-time, ASAP - September 30, 2026 (average of 24 hours/week)
- Sunday: 16:00–23:00
- Wednesday (every 2nd week): 12:00–16:00
- Thursday to Saturday: 12:00–16:00
*There is also an opportunity to pick up additional short notice shifts to fill vacancies on a casual basis.
** Good performance may qualify to stay on beyond the fixed term as casual, subject to successful application.
Starting Wage: $27.19 per hour
Certification Requirements (All)
Driving record / abstract with max 3 points for minor infractions in the last 5 years
Class 5 Drivers License
