Help Students Build Confidence in French

Do you love French and enjoy helping students experience that moment when something finally clicks.

Sylvan Learning Centre is looking for an enthusiastic French Tutor to join our Toronto team. You'll work with elementary and/or secondary students in a supportive learning environment, helping them strengthen their French reading, writing, speaking and comprehension skills while building confidence along the way.

Whether you're an experienced tutor, a teacher, or currently pursuing your degree, we'd love to hear from you if you're confident in French and enjoy working with students.

What You'll Do

As a French Tutor, you'll:

- Deliver engaging French instruction to individual students and small groups
- Support students with French reading, writing, speaking and comprehension
- Provide instruction that supports Ontario curriculum expectations
- Review student learning plans and prepare materials for tutoring sessions
- Adapt your approach to students' individual learning needs and abilities
- Create a positive, encouraging and motivating learning environment
- Monitor student progress and communicate relevant updates to Centre staff
- Participate in training and team meetings as required
- Recognize progress and help students build confidence as learners

What We're Looking For

Required:

- Strong written and spoken proficiency in both French and English
- Currently pursuing or having completed a bachelor's degree, diploma or equivalent post-secondary education
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt instruction to different learners
- A positive, patient and encouraging approach to working with students
- Reliable and committed to providing a consistent learning experience for students

Assets, but not required:

- Previous French tutoring, teaching,



mentoring or other relevant instructional experience
- Familiarity with the Ontario curriculum
- Experience working with elementary and/or secondary students
- Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) designation
