Parts Personnel -
Position Summary The Parts Personnel position is responsible for providing outstanding customer service while supporting the daily operations of the Parts Department. This role ensures accurate inventory management, assists the Service and Warranty departments, receives and stocks inventory, and maintains a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
The ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, organized, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced team setting.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Assist retail customers in a professional and courteous manner:
- In person
- By telephone
- Through email
- Via text messaging
- Identify customer needs and recommend the appropriate parts and accessories.
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
Inventory Management
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked parts shelves.
- Restock inventory from back storage, the barn, or sea containers as required.
- Monitor inventory levels and submit replenishment requests using the provided ordering system.
- Ensure all storage areas—including the stockroom, barn, and sea containers—remain clean, organized, and safe.
- Assist with inventory organization and stock rotation.
Service Department Support
- Pull and stage parts for scheduled service and warranty work as directed.
- Supply technicians with required parts throughout the day.
- Ensure all parts issued are accurately recorded on the appropriate repair or work order.
- Work closely with the Service Department to minimize delays and improve workflow.
Inventory Control
- Perform scheduled cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Report inventory discrepancies to management.
- Assist with annual inventory counts as required.
Parts Walks & Documentation
- Pull required parts from customer purchase contracts.
- Complete unit specification sheets, including all required measurements.
- Record warranty information based on customer purchase documentation.
- Maintain accurate records and properly file completed paperwork.
Pre-Finance Preparation
- Complete pre-finance parts walks.
- Accurately complete all required documentation.
- Submit documentation to the Finance Department and maintain a departmental copy for future reference.
Receiving & Stocking
- Assist with receiving incoming parts shipments.
- Verify received inventory against packing slips.
- Tag, label, and stock inventory in the appropriate locations.
- Report damaged or missing items promptly.
Qualifications
Required
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn dealership software.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Dependable with a positive, professional attitude.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a parts department, retail, dealership, agriculture, powersports, RV, marine, automotive, or related industry.
- Knowledge of parts lookup systems and inventory management software.
- Mechanical aptitude or familiarity with equipment and parts.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely lift and move heavy objects.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and climb as required.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions when retrieving inventory.
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced dealership environment.
- Frequent interaction with customers, technicians, and other departments.
- Regular use of computers, phones, handheld scanners, and inventory equipment.
- Occasional operation of material handling equipment, if trained and authorized.

Pay: $40,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
