Make a meaningful impact as a Peer Support Worker with the Canadian Mental Health Association Thames Valley. This full time role offers a chance to engage with peers through support and guidance in London, Ontario. As part of CMHA Thames Valley, you will work directly in the Peer Support Program, providing empathetic support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
Your lived experience will create connections, fostering wellness and resilience among peers. You'll utilize your skills to guide individuals toward community resources and facilitate group programming. Key Responsibilities:
- Engage peers through shared experiences to foster connection
- Assist in planning wellness goals with peers
- Provide empathetic listening in support interactions
- Facilitate peer support groups and skill-building activities
- Document interactions to track peer progress Requirements:
- Secondary School diploma required
- Lived experience of mental illness and/or addiction
- Valid G class driver’s license and vehicle access
- Current Police Vulnerable Sector Check needed
