My name is Colin Keddy, I am a 38-year-old male with a physical disability called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. As a result, I use a power wheelchair for mobility, a ventilator to assist with breathing via mask or mouthpiece, and a G-tube for nutrition. I require assistance with all activities of daily living and personal care. You will be working in my pet friendly, smoke-free home in Newmarket close to highway 404 @ Mulock.
Available shifts include:
Week B (Aug 3-9, 17-23 and so on alternating...):
Friday: 4:15-5:45 PM, 10-11:30 PM
Saturday: 5-7:45 PM, 9-10:30 PM
Sunday (temporary): 8:30-10:45 AM, 12:45-3 PM
Weekly:
Monday: 5-7:45 PM (temporary), 8:30-10 PM
Tuesday: 5-7:45 PM
Wednesday: 5-7:45 PM (temporary), 8:30-10 PM
Thursday: 5-7:45 PM (temporary)
Saturday: 5-7:45 PM
Occasional Backup, occasional overnight
Private, in-home care. Duties vary per shift and include assisting with activities of daily living, such as:
-transfers using a ceiling lift -personal care/grooming -dressing/undressing
-meal prep, assist with G-tube feeding -toileting -tidying/light housekeeping
-showering
Wage is $23-$25/hour. Training will be provided, experience is not a necessity, but would be an asset. I mainly need somebody who can take direction and is willing to learn. Students of health sciences or those who have cared for a family member or friend with a disability are welcome to apply. Must have your own reliable transportation and be dependable.
