Pharmacy Assistant The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy – Powell River, BC

Full-Time or Part-Time | Permanent The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy in Powell River is seeking a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. We are a patient-focused community pharmacy committed to providing personalized service and high-quality care.

Responsibilities

- Greet patients and provide courteous, professional service
- Receive prescriptions and enter patient and prescription information accurately
- Prepare prescriptions for pharmacist verification
- Process third-party insurance claims and resolve routine billing issues
- Answer telephone calls and direct clinical questions to the pharmacist
- Prepare compliance packs and assist with prescription organization
- Maintain medication and front-store inventory
- Receive orders, monitor stock levels, and check expiry dates
- Process payments and operate the point-of-sale system
- Support compounding and other specialized pharmacy services when trained




- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow pharmacy policies and procedures
- Keep the dispensary and work areas clean, organized, and safe

Qualifications
- Previous pharmacy assistant experience is preferred, but training may be provided to the right candidate
- Pharmacy Assistant certificate or related education is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- Comfortable working with computers and learning pharmacy software
- Able to organize priorities and remain calm in a busy setting
- Dependable, professional, and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and professional conduct
