Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) Jobs in Alberta Join a team of dedicated paramedics committed to providing exceptional emergency medical services in remote work sites throughout Alberta. The primary role of a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) at our sites is to provide prompt and efficient medical care in emergencies, ensuring the health and safety of all personnel on location. PCPs play a crucial role in our emergency response teams, delivering pre-hospital care, medical intervention for injuries and acute illnesses, health monitoring, and wellness checks as needed.

Roles and Responsibilities A primary care paramedic’s essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Providing first aid response and other emergency services to workers;
- Maintaining and organizing medical equipment, vehicles, and treatment areas;
- Documenting headcount on location as well as occasional client-requested paperwork;
- Completing and maintaining accurate medical documentation;
- Attending daily safety meetings;
- Following company work procedures;
- Following safe work practices;
- Maintaining knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology;




- Maintaining skills through regular self-guided study and skill stations; Primary care paramedics should possess the following:

- Strong communication;
- Excellent problem-solving abilities;
- Ability to direct workers in the event of a medical emergency;

Physical Requirements Due to the nature of the position, primary care paramedics must:

- Possess and maintain a reasonable level of fitness;
- Be able to work long hours, work many consecutive shifts, both day and night shift;
- Have the physical capability to work in adverse weather conditions;
- Have normal colour vision, as many safety systems are colour-coded.

Qualifications - Registered Primary Care Paramedic License or equivalent;

- Possess a valid driver’s licence (class 5) and current (within three months) clean driver abstract with no serious traffic safety violations;
- Possess a valid EGSO certificate (enform);
- Possess a valid WHMIS certificate (we can provide this training if needed);




- Possess a valid TDG certificate (we can provide this training if needed);
- Possess a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate;
- Possess Current Provincial Governing Body Registration. Additionally, primary care paramedic candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test as this is a safety-sensitive position.
