THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are looking for a Product Quality Engineering Co-op to work with our Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams in Delta.

This role will focus on understanding why products fail and turning those findings into measurable product and process improvements. You will analyze returned products and RMA and warranty data, conduct structured root cause investigations, support corrective and preventive action activities, and work across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Customer Service, and Field Service.



You do not need prior gas detection experience; bring a hands‑on engineering mindset, strong analytical skills, and a desire to learn.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

- Analyze returned products and RMA data to identify recurring failure modes and product quality trends.

- Perform root cause investigations using structured problem-solving tools such as 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, and fault-tree analysis.

- Support the development, documentation, and follow-up of corrective and preventive action plans.

- Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Customer Service, and Field Service to validate findings and implement improvements.

- Inspect, test, and document failed components, assemblies, and finished products.

- Maintain explicit records of investigations, test results, conclusions, and recommended actions.

- Assist with verification testing to confirm corrective actions have resolved identified issues.

- Help improve RMA, failure-analysis, and CAPA processes, templates, and standard work.

- Support updates to work instructions, inspection criteria, test procedures, and technical documentation.

- Present findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams and company leadership.

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES YOU WILL BRING:

- Currently enrolled in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Industrial, or a related Engineering program.

- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and evidence-based conclusions.

- Comfort working hands‑on with electronic and mechanical components, test equipment, and product documentation.

- Ability to organize and analyze data using Excel, Power BI, or similar reporting tools.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document investigations clearly.

- Ability to present technical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
