We are currently recruiting an experienced Production Manager to join our team supporting our client in the automotive industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Plant Manager you will provide leadership for all production personnel on all shifts; monitor the progress of all manufacturing departments to ensure quality, safety and volume targets are met

Ensuring the operating team's goals are aligned with, and representative of the overall plant’s directive

Act as liaison between team members and the rest of the organization (Maintenance, Quality, Logistics, Human Resources, and other operational leaders)

Utilize World Class Manufacturing, 5S and Lean principles to drive quality, safety, productivity and reduce waste

Delegate, Direct, Guide, and Coach Production Supervisors within various departments; developing a productive team through effective leadership

Participate in the review and recommendation of capital improvement expenditures as they relate to operations

Report quality non-conformance in a timely manner and ensure corrective action is taken, work closely with Quality to develop corrective action requests for customers

Ensure production personnel conduct work in a safe manner, where applicable safety equipment, follow policies/procedures and take corrective action or timely discipline where necessary

Ensure HR Policies are followed and Collective Agreement Procedures are followed while fostering positive labour relations between all levels of operations and with employees of other departments REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:





Effective leader with above-average management and supervisory skills

Experience in automotive manufacturing procedures and policies

Working knowledge of World Class Manufacturing principles and 5S, Lean principles and IATF 16949 standards.

University Degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, or related area

Minimum of seven (7) years manufacturing experience

Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in manufacturing

Experience in a unionized environment A detailed understanding of budgeting, efficiencies, uptime, yield, problem-solving techniques, motivational techniques, and long-range planning An overall process knowledge of the manufacturing process

Excellent oral and written communication skills. possess a good work attitude, excellent personal time management and organizational skills, and Must be able to independently organize shop floor to meet defined schedules with products meeting company quality standards, in a safe work environment COMPENSATION:

$110,000 - $140,000 / year (depending on experience) + bonus and benefits MEDA offers an excellent referral bonus.
