Production Supervisor

Location: Niagara Region, Ontario

Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent

Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 per year

Schedule: 12-Hour Continental Rotating Shifts (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM / 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced industrial environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading production teams, ensuring safe and efficient operations, maintaining product quality, and achieving production targets while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and lead production employees while ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Promote a strong safety culture and minimize workplace incidents through proactive leadership.
- Coordinate daily production activities to ensure production schedules and customer requirements are achieved.
- Oversee operations across production, processing, packaging, shipping, quality, and maintenance departments.
- Maintain employee attendance, vacation, overtime, and shift records.
- Support cross-functional departments including Maintenance, Quality, Purchasing, Logistics, Human Resources, Accounting, and Plant Management.
- Monitor production efficiency, quality, and manufacturing costs while identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Conduct daily 5S audits and maintain high housekeeping standards throughout the facility.
- Coach, mentor, and develop production employees through training, retraining, and cross-training programs.




- Evaluate employee performance and identify skill development opportunities.
- Foster positive employee relations and maintain a productive, team-oriented work environment.
- Assist with problem-solving, process improvements, and productivity enhancement initiatives.
- Ensure all production documentation and reports are completed accurately and on time.

Qualifications

- Post-secondary education in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Previous experience supervising or managing employees in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in a unionized manufacturing facility is required.
- Experience working in a 24/7 continuous manufacturing operation with rotating shifts.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing methodologies, including:
- 5S
- Standard Work
- TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)
- Gemba
- Structured Problem Solving
- OEE
- Kaizen
- Material Flow
- Kanban

- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
