- Provides leadership in the optimization, efficiency and capacity planning of operations associated with the assigned initiative.
- Plans and executes projects with a moderate level of value (benefit/cost) and at least a high level of complexity and uncertainty, including managing project scope, requirements changes, multiple and competing demands and priorities as well as determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk using appropriate fact-based metrics / assumptions.
- Facilitates joint planning with the client in the early stages of project formation, utilizing an appropriate delivery methodology and framework.
- Identifies and manages project costs and budgets, anticipating operational and some tactical risks.
- Raises and tracks issues and conflicts, removes barriers, resolves minor project issues and escalates them to the immediate manager when required.
- Facilitates schedule and cost forecasting; mentors project managers in determining risk-based provisions.
- Establishes and commits to a set of metrics.
- Supports the integration of technology within the product or service unit.
- Anticipates operational and some tactical risks and tracks and escalates as required.
- Assesses ambiguous situations and provides clarity to team and stakeholders as required.
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives to improve service levels and/or reduce cost.
- Drives End User Services Support and Operations resources to ensure all requests and projects are delivered on time, within budget and in scope
- Assists in the development of planning and funding documentation (PARs) to ensure adequate funds and approvals
- Develops processes, workflows and procedures to improve the efficiency of Service Delivery, End User Services team.
Relationship and Communication
- Resolves conflicts/issues and escalates as appropriate.
- Provides senior management with timely updates on project issues and manages communications, including status reports.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with team members, stakeholders and interface groups using a variety of techniques.
- Prepares and delivers presentations to business and technology partners, selecting the appropriate approach based on the audience.
- Interacts with senior management (IT infrastructure, operations, applications and BUs) on the full range of matters related to team responsibilities.
- Interacts with account executives and senior management teams.
- Ensures proper communication to key stakeholders, including affected lines of business, senior management, and other global technology and infrastructure partners
- Builds trusting relationships with key stakeholders and senior management representatives from within assigned LOB
- Works closely with internal clients and external vendors to schedule appropriate resources based on project requirements
- Produces weekly status reports and project plans as required
- Conducts weekly meetings in support of assigned initiatives
Must-Have Skills
- Undergraduate degree in a technical field or equivalent (e.g. BASc or equivalent)
- 7–10 years of Project Management experience.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Robust stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience with End User Services or Global Security (preferred).
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Strong background in change governance and impact assessment
- Scrum Master Certified
- Strong technical background with end-user networking and support within the financial services industry
- Understands basic financial principles and has the ability to negotiate vendor contracts to benefit the firm.
