Responsibilities:
Review and interpret prescription orders to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medication therapy
Dispense medications accurately and efficiently
Provide medication counseling to patients regarding proper use, potential side effects, and drug interactions
Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care and medication therapy outcomes
Monitor patient medication profiles for potential drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and medication management processes
Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all pharmacy-related activities
Skills:
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations
Experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred
Familiarity with pediatric pharmacotherapy is a plus
Proficiency in medication administration techniques
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare providers, and other pharmacy staff members
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced workplace
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
