Positive Samaritan Seniors' Living is currently seeking a housekeeping/laundry aide for our 64 bed LTC Home. The hours of work vary by shift and are 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm , 11am-7pm, and 2pm-6pm; the schedule will vary and hours per week are dependent on staffing needs and candidate availability. Weekend availability required.

Institutional housekeeping/laundry experience in Long Term Care / Hospital required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily damp dust with germicidal detergent of all furniture in Resident and office areas
Disinfection of high touch surfaces
Daily wash bath and washroom fixtures, replace paper supplies in dispensers
Dust control and damp mop all floor surfaces and baseboards, on routine basis, as well as polish stainless steel and chrome fittings.
Clean tops of windows, door frames and all wall hangings. Maintain janitor's closets in clean and tidy condition.
Remove spots/stains from upholstery
Wash walls, ceilings, lights, vents and insides of windows.
Daily, pick up/disposal of garbage/incontinent pads from waste containers




Participates in Fire Prevention, Pest Control, Occupational Health/Safety, and Infection Control programs as required.
Performs duties outlined in work schedule of housekeeping/laundry aide as required, and other duties as assigned.
Collection of soiled linens and personal clothing
Loads and unloads washers and dryers, ensuring that proper settings are used for each type of load, and that chemical supplies are at an appropriate level.
Fold, segregates and stacks linens and resident's personal clothing.
Delivers bed linens and towels to linen storage closets on each wing.
Returns laundered clothing to closets and drawers of residents, ensuring that each article is properly marked with name.
Ensures that laundry room, linen closets, and all equipment and carts are kept in a clean, protected and sanitary condition.
