Position Summary
The Traffic Control Person (TCP) is responsible for maintaining the safe and efficient movement of pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles through construction and work zones. TCPs represent Shewálh Construction Ltd. on-site and are expected to demonstrate professionalism, safety, and respect while protecting the public, clients, and fellow workers.
Key Responsibilities
Direct and control vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely.
Follow approved Traffic Management Plans (TMPs).
Communicate effectively with the LCT, supervisors, and crew members.
Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices when directed.
Monitor work zones for changing hazards and report concerns immediately.
Maintain protected distances between workers, equipment, and the public.
Wear all required PPE and maintain a professional appearance.
Complete daily hazard assessments and safety documentation.
Assist with emergency traffic control when required.
Represent Shewálh professionally with clients and the public.
Qualifications
Valid BC Traffic Control Person (TCP) Certification.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence is considered an asset.
Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Solid communication skills and situational awareness.

Pay: $19.75-$22.50 per hour
