Journeyman heavy Duty mechanic

We are looking for a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our shop in Sexsmith, AB. This role is responsible for the mechanical maintenance on vehicles and equipment. A general team player attitude and willingness to help out in any and everything will guarantee success in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspect and examines vehicle and equipment
Service, diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain vehicles and equipment and perform other routine maintenance work
Keep up to date with industry standards and regulations
Provide guidance and instruction to less experienced operators, or apprentice maintenance personnel
Troubleshoot to determine cause and effect of mechanical failures
Assist in shop/yard maintenance and upkeep
Participate and assist in an active HSE culture

Experience and Skills:
Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification is required; as a journeyman, it is anticipated you will have a basic set of trades tools
Experience as an HD Journeyman in a shop workplace an asset
Heavy equipment technician or operator training is an asset




Safe driving skills; driver’s abstract will be requested
Physically fit – heavy lifting required
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Class 5 driver’s license
H2S, First Aid
