Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting optometrists and optical staff in providing exceptional eye care services and ensuring a smooth patient experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of optical products, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in retail sales or laboratory settings is a plus, along with familiarity with medical terminology and optical equipment.

Duties
Assist patients in selecting eyewear, including frames and lenses, ensuring they find suitable options based on their needs and preferences
Prepare and process optical orders using laboratory equipment and ensure accuracy in measurements and prescriptions
Maintain an organized optical inventory, including ordering supplies and managing stock levels
Support the optometry team by preparing exam rooms, sterilizing equipment, and handling administrative tasks




Educate patients on lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear care to enhance their understanding and satisfaction
Utilize retail sales skills to promote eyewear products and accessories effectively
Manage patient records accurately using electronic health records systems
Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, and ensuring a positive experience

Experience

Prior experience in this job is not needed. Full training is offered.
