You will be using your exceptional customer service skills to uphold the safety of passengers and create a positive travel experience by:
Efficiently screening passengers and baggage through airport security checkpoints
Scanning and testing baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines, metal detectors and other technology, along with physical search techniques
Providing customer service professionally and with integrity
Upholding all regulations with vigilance
Confirming valid boarding passes
Protecting restricted areas
Managing conflict
Communicating clearly and effectively
You will receive paid training at $21.97/hour, increasing to $25.03/hour following the successful completion of training and full certification. You’ll also receive comprehensive perks and a outstanding uniform!
What You Bring:
Excellent customer service skills, preferably in a high-volume environment for a minimum of one (1) year
Open availability to work any shift as required by the airport operations, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
Solid English communication skills, both written and verbal; fluency in French is an asset
Ability to comply with the CATSA medical requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Must be a current resident of Quesnel, or the surrounding area.
This position will be fully based at Quesnel Airport (YQZ).
If you are successful in the application process, you will be required to apply for a Transport Security Clearance (TSC), which requires an extensive background check. Once obtained, you will be eligible to begin the Screening Officer Foundations (SOF) course, which much be successfully passed prior to beginning work as a Pre-Board Screening Officer.
