The Accountant Manager will support the internal team of accountants and bookkeepers. The ideal candidate will have experience in management roles, providing coaching and mentorship to a small team, full-cycle accounting and reporting. Previous experience in public accounting is highly preferred.
What You Will Do
Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Oversee the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data produced by the accountants/junior staff.
Act as a primary mentor to junior accounts and bookkeepers, reviewing their work and fostering professional development and growth.
Review and finalize complex personal (T1) and corporate (T2) tax returns.
Lead audit and review procedures, serving as a primary point of contact for the CRA and other regulatory bodies.
Review files.
Tax planning for a diverse portfolio of clients.
What You Bring
CPA Designation (or in progress) strongly preferred but not required.
Minimum 7 years of progressive public accounting experience.
Proficient in financial accounting software, QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Quickbooks desktop.
Advanced Excel skills required.
Experience in Caseware.
Leadership skills, proven ability to oversee junior staff members.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
High attention to detail with ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with other team members.
Compensation dependent on experience
Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
