OTD Legal Services is seeking a Licensed Paralegal to join our Cambridge team.
Qualifications:
Applicant must hold a valid P1 Licence. Applicant also must have a valid driver's licence with reliable transportation. The ideal candidate has confidence, excellent attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and manage time, critical thinking skills, strong written and verbal skills, and is computer proficient.
Experience:
Experience with the Highway Traffic Act/Provincial Offences Act/Summary Criminal charges is preferred. Litigation experience is an asset. Paid training is provided.
Responsibilities:
General job duties include (but are not limited to) management of client files; client intake meetings in person and by phone; attendance at court for general appearances; managing court lists (scheduling); preparation for court including client meetings, case law research,
witness interviews; resolution discussions with Crown/Prosecutors; reviewing and drafting legal documents; obtaining instructions from clients; reporting court results to clients (orally and in writing); administrative duties, telephone backup, and communication with other paralegal firms & agents.
Job Type:
This is a full time, in-person position (hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday) in Cambridge. Only qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview.
