Python Engineer (Platform Engineer)

Location: Toronto Ontario- hybrid 4 days

Contract to hire

Job Summary

- Strong hands-on Python development experience, particularly backend applications and microservices.

- Strong experience using AI/GenAI coding tools to support software development, troubleshooting, testing, and productivity.

- Good development experience with Unix/Linux and Shell/Bash scripting.

- Hands-on experience with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL databases.

- Experience working with messaging technologies such as MQ.

- Good understanding of the complete SDLC, including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.

- Good experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

- Exposure to TLS, SSL, HTTPS, firewalls, and application/network security concepts.

- Experience collaborating with third-party vendors and cross-functional technology teams.

- Exposure to tools such as Confluence, ServiceNow, and SharePoint.

- Experience with cloud technologies is an advantage.

- SWIFT and/or Sanctions domain experience would be a solid plus.
