Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in various carpentry techniques and be able to work independently as well as collaboratively on diverse construction projects. This role requires a commitment to quality craftsmanship and safety, ensuring that all work meets industry standards.

Duties
Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, and wallboard.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
Perform concrete forming and masonry tasks as needed for various projects.
Execute cabinet installation with precision, ensuring alignment and functionality.
Conduct electrical work related to carpentry projects when required.
Utilize CNC machinery for exact cutting and shaping of materials.
Apply caulking to seal joints or seams against leakage in various structures.
Restore existing structures by repairing or replacing damaged components.
Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure project timelines are met efficiently.

Experience




Proven experience as a carpenter with a comprehensive skill set in maintenance person tasks.
Proficient in construction estimating to assess project costs accurately.
Robust knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in the industry.
Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:
Fort McMurray, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Education:
AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Experience:
carpentry: 4 years (preferred)
journeyman: 3 years (preferred)

Language:
English (required)

Licence/Certification:
journeyperson certificate (preferred)
Driving Licence (required)

Willingness to travel:
25% (preferred)
