Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Food & Beverage, this position is responsible for serving the guests at a counter, in a restaurant, buffet operation, coffee shop, on a casino floor, in a bar, at a ba nquet, in a theatre, in in-room dining or other areas. Ensures adherence to all polices and procedures while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. Ensures adherence to the Company�s policies and procedu res, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian�s learning setting while establishing a secure and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Key Accountabilities
Greets guests by name wher ever possible
Escorts guests to a table when applicable; presents menus; informs guests of daily specials
Explains how various menu items or beverages are prepared
Takes the guest orders; makes recommendations
Serves the guests; checks to ensure satisfaction
Prepares food and beverages if applicable
Resolves guests issues or asks management for assistance
Presents bill upon request; takes payment in the absence of a cashier
Cleans table s or counters; removes dishes; re-stocks where applicable
Delivers food to hotel rooms as directed; obtains signature; removes used trays
Performs opening or closing duties as required
Counts cash float at end of shift when a pplicable
Covers other servers� sections when required
Exercises valuable judgment when serving alcoholic beverages
Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
Develops and cultivates st rong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership and team members
Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Education and Qualifications
High School Diploma
Minimum 1 year serving experience effective and service oriented communication
POS experience
Food Safety Certification
Ability to successfully ob tain a Gaming License
Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely,
Work Setting Considerations
Regular casino, restaurant or bar environment, standing and walking f or long periods of time, some exposure to noise, odors; lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, stretching, some exposure to verbal abuse, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, stretching, non-traditional work hours
