The NP successfully functions in an expanded role demonstrating expert skill to formulate clinical decisions and appropriately manage acute/chronic illness and promote wellness. The NP utilizes a comprehensive theoretical knowledge base and an advanced level of clinical competence in caring for patients, involving collecting and interpreting data, determining a medical diagnosis,



and treating complex responses of individuals and families to actual or potential problems.
