We have a full time time position available! We'd love to have you join the team! Reporting to the Manager of Recreation, the Recreation Assistant will provide recreation therapies to residents according to their assessed needs.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Provides recreation and leisure activities in accordance with established policy which includes meeting the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and spiritual needs of our residents;
Assist in planning for assigned resident area activity calendars in accordance with the care plan goals and preferences of the residents on each home area;
Ensures that thorough evaluation of assessments, intervention plans, program development and program delivery is consistently completed to ensure the efficacy of recreation services;
Responsible for maintaining accurate and complete records of programs delivered, documentation, program development and program delivery;
Contributes to positive customer service with residents and families in day to day work;
Ability to work as part of a team and independently.

The ideal candidates will possess:




Diploma or Degree in Recreation Therapy or related field;
Current TB test, Immunization Records and Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector;
Minimum 1 to 2 years experience in gerontology and working with seniors;
Knowledge of programming needs for older adults diagnosed with dementia;
Robust verbal and written communication, assessment and interpersonal skills;
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Point Click Care and Point of Care;

Shift premiums available for evening and weekend shifts.
